The Kiabi x LISAA Dark Rain fashion collection on sale from 20th January
From 20th January, Kiabi will launch the “Dark Rain” collection by Alice Wood, a third year student on the Fashion Design-Pattern Making course at the LISAA Paris School of Fashion. Alice is the winner of the partnership that was launched with Kiabi in 2015.
AN ALL WEATHER FASHION SPORT COLLECTION
Kiabi wanted to launch a sports collection on the theme of "Dark Rain: I practice my sport in all weather conditions." The brand established a partnership with LISAA School of Fashion Paris and selected a winning project in February 2016, Alice Wood’s collection, which will be on sale on the Kiabi website from 20th January 2017.
In the context of climate imbalance, Kiabi wanted to create a collection that would adapt to different sports (indoor and outdoor) and all weather conditions. The initial brief gave free reign to students’ creativity for the choice of fabrics and graphic design, all within a fixed colour range.
The collection is aimed at both men and women and includes a windbreaker, a sweatshirt, a vest/sports bra, a t-shirt, a pair of leggings or trousers, a pair of shorts, a pair of shoes and pair of socks, all within a limited budget.
A JURY OF PROFESSIONALS FROM THE FASHION CHAIN
The students, at that time in the second year of courses in Fashion Design-Pattern Making, Fashion and Textile Design and Fashion Design-Fashion Business, started by creating collection plans. Three collections were retained by Kiabi to be developed as prototypes, submitted to the jury in February 2016.
The DARK RAIN Kiabi X LISAA collection by Alice Wood was chosen by a jury of professionals from the fashion chain: the collections director, the communications & media director, the art director, the men’s collection director, the women’s collection director, a children’s fashion designer/graphic designer and a women’s fashion designer.
