Interview with Swann Amdéo, co-creator of the brand SWEN // LISAA Alumni
Swann Amdéo graduated in fashion design-pattern making from LISAA Paris in 2013. He met Steven Jacques the same year and together they launched the men’s ready-to-wear brand SWEN. Today they are incubated in the Ateliers de Paris.
LISAA: How did your brand SWEN come about?
Swann: SWEN was born from meeting Steven in 2013, when I had just graduated in fashion design-pattern making from LISAA Paris School of Fashion, and our shared desire to express ourselves through clothes.
I always knew that I had a message to pass on and today I really see clothes as a medium, a vector for ideas. I also rapidly realised that I couldn’t work for someone, that that would encroach my freedom, my creativity.
Give yourself the opportunity to believe in yourself and your dreams, undertake, do.

You joined the Ateliers de Paris in 2016. What does that bring to your brand?
Joining the Ateliers de Paris last June allowed us to establish ourselves—to work in a team, intensify our work and develop our brand.
We also benefit from the sizeable network of the city of Paris, so we gain visibility.
What are you most proud of?
I’m proud to say to myself that each decision I have taken has guided me in the right direction.
What advice would you give someone who wants to set up a similar project?
Give yourself the opportunity to believe in yourself and your dreams, undertake, do.
