LISAA Fashion Paris teams up with American Vintage for a workshop
This year, LISAA Fashion Paris is giving students the chance to take part in a workshop in collaboration with the French ready-to-wear brand American Vintage.
An essential French brand
Founded in 2005 by Michaël Azoulay, American Vintage is American only by name. Originally from the Mediterranean region, the Ready-to-wear brand soon became an established label on the French fashion landscape. With timeless and comfortable basics in elegant cuts, American Vintage creates modern collections with a minimal and authentic style.
For 15 years now, American Vintage has stood out for the quality of its products made from natural plant and animal materials, but also for the values advocated by its founder: enjoying your job and doing it well, attention to detail, kindness, sincerity and sharing.
This year, LISAA Fashion Paris is offering its second-year students on the Fashion & Textile Designer Bachelor’s, Fashion Design/Pattern Making and Fashion Design & Business courses the chance to work with this now essential brand as part of an exclusive workshop.
Reinventing the basics
For this exercise, the students' challenge is to draw inspiration from three white cotton basics from American Vintage—the t-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and white denim jacket—while retaining the brand's identity. The aim is to redesign a piece by embodying "the American Vintage essentials in white", playing with shapes, fabrics, finishes, details and the colour white while complementing the brand's collection.
To do this, the students must follow several criteria: they must design just one piece and use only one colour: "white and shades of white", working in jersey, fleece and/or twill, and keep the brand’s "Less is more" identity.
See you in a few weeks to discover the results!
