Presentation of the Disney R&D Centre by Anastasio Garcia

Thursday 24th September at 7pm – Invited by Paris ACM Siggraph, Anastasio Garcia, engineer at the Disney R&D centre, will present the process and impact of the technology transfer from the R&D centre to the rest of the Disney group.

R&D AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

How does a technology transfer work? What will be the impact on the production of the next Walt Disney Animation Studios animated films and the creation of new animatronics (animated robots) for Disney theme parks? These questions, and more, will be addressed at the conference.

The examples presented will focus on the clothing simulator “super fast cloth” and the “automatic lip synch.”

ANASTASIO GARCIA, ENGINEER

Anastasio Garcia is in charge of the optimisation of the technology transfer from the R&D centre to the rest of the Disney group. Before joining Disney, Anastasio Garcia acquired a great deal of experience in the field of software in the film industry working for post-production companies such as Sony Pictures, Imageworks and Weta Digital. He holds a bachelor’s in Information Technology from the University of Seville and a master’s in astronomy from Swinburne University of Technology in Australia.

Master Video Game
This course is aimed mainly at students who completed the 2-D/3-D video game course. Il allows them to further develop their abilities in the following areas: 3-D animation, concept art, 3-D modeling, rigging, lighting, shaders creation, VFX, level design, scripting, game design.
