A strategic service design partnership with Carrefour
The Interior Architecture and Design school at LISAA Paris is developing its specialisation in service design via prestigious partnerships, particularly with the innovation team at Carrefour.
TEACHING GEARED TOWARDS THE PROFESSIONAL WORLD
From the fourth year of their course, Interior Architecture and Design students work on service design projects that are real cases set by professionals. This is the case of Carrefour, whose innovation team has close ties with the courses at LISAA.
Each year, the 4th year degree project focuses on partners including Carrefour. The brand tasks the young designers on societal issues or business strategy: innovating for a niche target, humanising supermarkets, improving customer services, reinventing the user experience in petrol stations, etc.
JUNIOR INNO DAY
It is within the framework of these projects that students participate in Junior Inno Day (JID), organised by Carrefour at the beginning of the summer. Bringing together students in business, engineering and design schools, this day is dedicated to the best innovation projects in service design or product design.
And designers are certainly popular! LISAA was awarded 1st and 3rd prize in 2015, and 3rd prize in 2016.
RECRUITMENT INTO THE BARGAIN!
Following the JID and the LISAA-Carrefour partnership, several students have been recruited by the large retail brand, with full-time positions or internships in the innovation team. Service design has a bright future ahead!
CARREFOUR, A COMMITTED PARTNER
Carrefour is present in France through four formats (hypermarkets, supermarkets, convenience stores, cash&carry) and more than 5600 stores. In order to respond to new ways of consuming and to make shopping easier for its customers, Carrefour develops multichannel solutions (e-commerce, Drive, Click and Collect, express delivery, mobile applications).
As part of its Open Innovation initiative, Carrefour challenges LISAA students on the issue of coming closer to their customers, with, as a bonus, the possibility of competing in the Junior Inno Day, a meeting of innovators who have come from partnerships with the grandes écoles. The next event will take place 27th June 2017.
