David Jouvrot, winner of the Judges’ Favourite Prize at the Bordeaux Rosé competition
28th May, Bordeaux, David Jouvrot, first year student in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design at LISAA Rennes, was awarded the Judges’ Favourite Prize for the glass design category at the Bordeaux Rosé competition. This year the jury challenged 35 schools, 330 teams—making a total of 700 participants—to rethink the design of the quintessential Bordeaux wine bottle.
A Visual and Tactile Feeling of Freshness
“Bordeaux Rosé, the other Rosé” is the name David Jouvrot has given to this distinctively designed bottle. The student impressed the judging panel with his protective cover concept created with transparent silicone, which creates a real visual and tactile feeling of freshness when the product is held.
Dressing the Glass
The candidates’ brief was to create an innovative product to differentiate the bottle from the current market, to reinforce the unique character of Bordeaux Rosé and to fully exploit the properties of glass.
A Collaboration with Verallia
In the glass design category, the Syndicat des Bordeaux et Bordeaux Supérieurs teamed up with Verallia to award a prize especially created for the occasion on the theme of redesigning the rosé bottle. This partnership with Verallia is a real honour for the competition as it is the third largest company worldwide in glass packaging.
